Riverview recruitment is delighted to be working with Royal Free London (RFL) Property Services to appoint a Senior Project Manager (SPM) for their capital projects team on a minimum 6-month contract. This is an exciting time for the capital projects team with an abundance of new construction works streams valued up to £35 million on the Northwest Anglia Trust redevelopment programme.
RFL Property Services (RFLPS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Free London Group and the organisations formation it has embarked on a journey of transformational change in the way estate services are delivered within the NHS.
As a Senior PM for the capital projects and external commission team, you will support the redevelopment work at Hinchingbrooke, Northwest Anglia Trust. The scheme is varied, with review and development of the Development Control Plan and an on-site theatre development and day to day management of RAAC (reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete) structural remedial works.
You will be managing a contractor and consultant as part of these backlog maintenance projects.
Key responsibilities for this role will include management of capital projects within the estate and to provide the most practical and economic solutions for design, procurement, construction, management, commissioning, and maintenance of the development.
You will be responsible for the delivery and coordination of the capital developments in relation to the business case. Providing contractual knowledge (NEC and JCT), and management of the contractor, consultants, and the internal team.
Develop a robust and effective internal project management and communication structure with the clinical and operational teams and an information management and control system that ensures all parties have timely access to all information relevant to their tasks and the projects objectives and status.
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Construction professional (RICS, RIBA or CEng or similar) and have vast experience of a variety of project planning and programme techniques. You will have proven expertise to lead, plan, manage and interact with colleagues to deliver projects successfully in the spirit of cooperation and have extensive experience at management level.
It is important you can seek and share information and ideas in a confident and compelling manner and be able to engage with stakeholders proactively to meet a clear objective. Previous knowledge of ECC/JCT contracts is essential and knowledge of healthcare codes such as HBN’s, HTM’s and HGN’s would be advantageous.
This role would suit an individual who thrives in a complex environment and has excellent verbal and written communication to engage and motivate stakeholders to deliver an extensive and vital scheme. Be of analytical mind to produce coherent, comprehensive, and concise reports that achieve their purpose first time and be able to organise workload and managed outcomes to meet planned objectives.
